it-security award 2008 for eleven

eleven wins it-security award, web/Internet security at Systems 2008

Berlin, 27 October 2008 – For the second time this week, the e-mail experts at eleven have been commended for their outstanding achievements: when their integrated e-mail security solution eXpurgate won the it-security Award 2008 in the web/internet security category. The jury was swayed by the technology’s vital statistics: more than 99 percent spam recognition, a false positive rate of less than 0,00001 percent, and a checking rate of over 1000 e-mails a second.

The use of eleven technologies at top German football club VfB Stuttgart, in collaboration with eleven’s partner, the IT solutions provider StarTech, was highlighted as a particularly noteworthy application: VfB Stuttgart’s hundred-odd employees protect their e-mail inboxes with the spam filter and e-mail categorisation service eXpurgate in the form of a managed service. This solution entails no complicated installation or maintenance work at all. E-mails are diverted to the eleven server, where they are checked for spam, viruses and trojans. Only e-mails that have been identified as “clean” are forwarded to the customer. Says Bernd Burger, Head of the ICT department, “We have a very low staffing level, and so we were looking for a solution that would take a minimum of looking after. We felt like we were in good hands at eleven: The solution is well-engineered, and doesn’t need any complex system maintenance, so I would opt for eXpurgate every time.”
