Outbound protection with mail relay function
Mail relay function
For customers who want to apply the same security standards to both their outbound and inbound e-mail traffic, mail relay function is the solution
The mail relay function checks outbound e-mails for spam and viruses as reliably as inbound e-mail traffic by channeling all outgoing e-mail traffic via the eleven servers, where it is checked for spam, viruses and unwanted attachments. Spam check, virus scanner and virus outbreak detection can be activated and deactivated by the customer.
The customer can decide individually how the different malware categories should be treated. For example, viruses can be deleted and the "cleaned" e-mail delivered to the recipient, with a short message about the deleted malware added. Spam and virus outbreaks can be rejected. All three categories can also be diverted to a specially designated e-mail address.
The mail relay function supports the recognition of dangerous attachments as well as those carrying viruses and allows the deletion of such attachments. The customer can define which attachments should be categorized as dangerous.
The mail relay function ensures that a company´s e-mail infrastructure is not abused as a distributor of spam and malware by detecting dangerous outbound e-mail with the same reliability as inbound e-mail.
