eXpurgate Archiving

eXpurgate Archiving is a solution for legally-compliant, long-term archiving of business-relevant e-mail. eXpurgate Archiving makes it possible to archive both incoming and outgoing business e-mail and is available as a managed service. eXpurgate Archiving stores messages on eleven infrastructure, eliminating the added burden to company resources and making the solution 100% independent of company e-mail systems. The archiving infrastructure is redundantly designed, i.e. data is saved in a powerful redundant storage solution to prevent data loss during the entire archival period. This ensures maximum system reliability and guarantees that no archived e-mails are lost.

Data security and scalability

The solution is an eleven proprietary development. It is designed for unlimited scalability, maximum data security, highest data volumes and variable storage times and suitable for companies of all sizes. The storage is separate data centers ensures maximum data security. It makes sure that failure of parts of the system does not affect the overall system and has no effect on the storage of the data and the access to them.

The e-mail to be archived is first checked for spam and malware on the eleven servers. After a successful check, the e-mail is forwarded to several archivers (minimum two) where ii is archived and indexed automatically. These are located in separate data centers in order to ensure full functionality even in the case of a system failure. The data are encrypted (AES). The infrastructures used are designed to ensure long-term storage and highest data volumes.

eXpurgate Archiving gives companies optimum data protection. The entire infrastructure used is located in certified data centers in Germany. This guarantees strict adherence to the stringent German data protection regulations. The “four-eyes principle” is used to protect employee data: each user only has access to their own e-mails; access to other users’ data is only possible by authorizing a second administrator.

Meets legal requirements

eXpurgate Archiving saves all e-mails sent or received through the eXpurgate managed service and not categorized as spam or malware as permanent and unchangeable, thereby meeting all key legal standards for saving business e-mail (including the Principles of Data Access and Auditing of Digital Documents, or GDPdU). This also pertains to audit requirements, i.e. e-mail immutability and the exclusion of subsequent manipulation as well as statutory archiving of a time period from six to ten years (depending on the type of document).

Convenient Web interface

All e-mails are saved and indexed completely automatically. Full text indexing allows for fast, convenient searches of archived e-mails through eleven’s own Web interface, enabling searches of sent and received messages. Search criteria include sender, recipient, date, and freely selectable key words that may also be combined. The solution allows e-mails to be exported as .eml files and individual attachment downloads.
